Servicing & Maintenance

  • At Autotest, we carry out all servicing in line with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended schedules, using approved methods, parts, and fluids to ensure long-term reliability and maintain warranty compliance wherever applicable.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of workmanship and safety. For this reason, we are unable to fit second-hand or customer-supplied parts, as we cannot guarantee their condition or suitability. In cases where a request may compromise the quality or integrity of the service, we will always discuss alternative solutions and aim to find the best outcome for the vehicle and its owner.

Our goal is to provide transparent, dependable servicing — with no corners cut.

  • Keeping accurate service and maintenance records is essential for the long-term value, reliability, and safety of your vehicle. At Autotest, we record all servicing in detail and follow manufacturer service schedules to ensure nothing is missed.

Where applicable, we update digital service records on manufacturer portals (such as Mercedes DSB, BMW iService, Audi Digital Service Schedule, etc.) to ensure your vehicle's service history is complete and accessible — a crucial step that many independent garages overlook.

Whether it's a routine service or a more in-depth maintenance procedure, we make sure every job is clearly documented and traceable — giving you confidence, and helping protect your vehicle’s value.

  • At Autotest, all servicing is carried out in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, using approved parts and methods — meaning your vehicle’s warranty remains fully protected.

As a Bosch Car Service Centre, we also offer the added reassurance of the Bosch Car Service Nationwide Guarantee, covering parts and labour on eligible repairs across the UK network. This ensures peace of mind not just while your vehicle is with us, but long after you drive away.

You don't have to visit the main dealer to maintain your warranty — you just need a garage that does things properly. That’s what we do.

  • Our servicing and maintenance appointments are typically booked 3–8 weeks in advance, depending on the time of year and the type of work required. We recommend enquiring early, especially for major services or pre-holiday checks.

  • An interim service is a basic maintenance check carried out between full services — typically every 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first. It's designed to keep your vehicle running smoothly and safely between major service intervals, especially if you cover higher mileage or use your vehicle regularly for short trips.

    It usually includes:

    • Oil and filter change

    • Fluid level checks and top-ups

    • Tyre tread and pressure check

    • Brake and suspension inspection

    • Lights, battery, and general safety checks

Interim servicing helps catch early signs of wear and tear, maintain efficiency, and reduce the risk of unexpected issues.

  • What Is a Full / Annual Service?

A full service — often referred to as an annual service — is a comprehensive inspection and maintenance check carried out once a year or every 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. It’s designed to keep your vehicle safe, reliable, and running at its best.

Some manufacturers may have slightly different time and mileage intervals for full services, but the overall structure and content of the service are typically similar. At Autotest, we always follow the manufacturer’s servicing schedule to ensure your vehicle receives the correct care.

    A full service generally includes:

    • Oil and filter change

    • Air, pollen, and fuel filter replacement (where required)

    • Brake inspection

    • Checks on suspension, steering, and drive components

    • Battery, lights, and electronics check

    • Tyre condition and pressures

    • Fluid top-ups and antifreeze check

    • Service light reset and digital record update

This service is essential for long-term vehicle health, performance, and warranty protection.
